Thank you for your website! Your dedication to Pit Bull breed education and saving dog's lives was instrumental in saving my dog. About a year ago, we had a pit bull puppy who I thought we would have to give up. We ignorantly brought this male puppy into our home to join or senior male pit bull and feisty Pomeranian. We also have 2 toddlers and a baby. I'm sure you can imagine the chaos that this created. With a newborn, I didn't have sufficient time or energy to train our new puppy. So he ended up killing two of our pet chickens and began brutal fights with our senior dog. When this happened my family urged me to "get rid of the dog". They thought he would "turn" on the kids. Or that the kids would get caught in the middle of a dog fight. I was so devastated but I began to search online for pit bull adoption organizations. Through that search, I found your website. I subsequently read every single page, article, and link on your site. The most impactful things that I learned were "If you, who know and love the dog best, won't give him another chance, why should anyone else?" We decided to fully commit to training our dogs, leading them, and "not setting them up for failure". We learned their triggers and keep aware of any potential new ones. But we now have the knowledge and tools to confidently manage them and learn from them. Thank you so much. Without your website, my dog would be dead. I'm sure that if we gave him up he would be abandoned, abused, or put to sleep. My dog and I are so grateful that he is a forever member of our family. - H. O.
