Volunteer Information
PBRC is an educational and funding resource for owners and caretakers of American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and any mixes thereof. PBRC does not have a physical building or place pit bulls in homes. PBRC has no paid staff. All of our organization's daily activities and tasks are handled by our dedicated volunteer base. PBRC's various teams and committees depend on strong volunteer effort to run smoothly and effectively. Expectations
PBRC is a nationally recognized and respected organization. Volunteers are expected to be held in good standing in their communities. PBRC advocates breed education and expects volunteers to have a good understanding of breed traits. Volunteers should own a bully breed or have experience handling bully breeds. Volunteers are expected to adhere to the PBRC code of conduct. |
Requirements
Since PBRC is a web entity with no physical location, volunteers need to have a reliable internet connection with email. We ask that volunteers spend 5-10 hours per week on various PBRC activities. Most committees require volunteers to check their email daily. PBRC has a number of teams and committees. With some exceptions, newly incoming volunteers are asked to be a part of at least one committee. Committees and teams are listed below. What We Look for in Volunteers...
The optimal PBRC volunteer is enthusiastic, conscientious and determined to make the world a better place for pit bulls and their caretakers through education and outreach. At PBRC we are always looking for volunteers with special skills such as technical support, web and graphic design, writing, fundraising and marketing. If this describes you, be sure to make special note of it on your volunteer application. |
Have you ever helped at a fundraising event for your local shelter? Helped out with an auction at your child's school? Do you enjoy shopping for great products that can also help your favorite cause? Pit Bull Rescue Central needs you! We are looking for a few good volunteers who are committed to helping us help the dogs by assisting with our current fundraisers and finding new opportunities to raise money. If you have a love for pit bulls, enthusiasm to help keep PBRC going, and aren't afraid to ask people to support a cause you care about,
