COOKIE

"We adopted our third Pit Bull, from Villalobos Rescue Center in Southern California, and thank you PBRC for your part in the adoption.

We've only had Cookie not even quite two weeks yet. Cookie is deaf, but oh what a blessing she has been already! What a sweetheart! I would like to encourage all those who read this to seriously consider adopting a rescue Pit when you're looking for a dog to adopt. I am so glad we did.

Also, please think long and hard about letting your dogs have puppies, there are soooo many unwanted dogs that never do find homes and/or end up being put to sleep. Please consider spaying or neutering. Even though puppies are so cute and so much fun sometimes when they grow up they end up homeless, among other things. An altered pet truly makes a better companion.

UPDATE: Cookie has been with us now for just over a year and a half. It took her "sisters" a couple of weeks, but they accepted Cookie just fine...she didn't give them any choice! She is such a cuddle bug!

MARTHA...

A PIT BULL HERO

Martha's foster family has decided to be her forever home.

Julie told me last night about a deed Martha performed that sealed the deal. 3-yr-old Isaac had drifted (in his life jacket) too far out in the pond to be able to return to shallow water. Although he was not in danger of drowning, Isaac lacks the requisite swimming skills to get himself back to shore. Julie was ready to jump in and get him, but Martha the pit bull retriever figured out the task at hand and took it upon herself to swim to the child, grasp his life jacket in her mouth and ferry him back to safer water.

HAPPY ENDINGS!

From abandoned, to rescued, and now happily adopted, Heather has found a wonderful new home where she will be loved, pampered, and cherished. She even has a best new friend, Buddy! Special thanks goes out to The Amanda Foundation, and Carol, who introduced Heather to that special person who has taken this dog with open arms.
