Rewards  

As of October, 2003, dogfighting is illegal in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, and the federal Animal Welfare Act prohibits the interstate transportation of dogs for fighting purposes. Forty-seven states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands have made dogfighting a felony offense. Forty-five states, the District of Columbia, and the Virgin Islands prohibit the possession of dogs for fighting. And 48 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands prohibit being a spectator at a dogfight.

Rewards Offered
The organizations listed below offer rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of dog fighters.

United States
The Humane Society of the United States offers a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person who organizes dogfights, participates in dogfights, promotes dogfighting, or officiates at dogfights.

In Defense Of Animals offers a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of pet thieves. If you have information about these or other pet thieves, please contact In Defense Of Animals at 1-800-STOLEN-PET (1-800-786-5367).

Alabama
North Talladega Humane Society has announced the formation of the "Fund For the Prevention Of Animal Abuse." Its purpose is to offer rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone abusing animals, the more serious offenses being dog-fighting and poisoning. This offer is area wide including adjoining counties. For additional information, call 256-249-3573.

Illinois
Sangamon and Menard Counties Crime Stoppers: The SAD Program (Stop Abuse of Dogs and other pets) was initiated to combat the increase in dog-theft and dog-fighting in Sangamon and Menard Counties. The information will be investigated by the proper authorities and if an arrest is made the caller will receive a cash reward. If you have information about dog-theft and dog-fighting, call 1-800-397-2288.

Indiana
The Unconditional Love Foundation is dedicated to putting an end to animal fighting and is working with the Muncie - Delaware County Dogfighting Task Force. Up to a $2,500 reward is possible if your animal fighting tip leads to an arrest and conviction. Call Crime Stoppers at (765) 286-4050 with any information related to animal fighting and 911 if you witness a fight in progress. Remember, reporting animal fighting will reduce violence and illegal activities in your neighborhood!

Maryland
$1000 reward offered for information on dog fighting activity in Baltimore City and County. If you have information on dog fighting activity in Baltimore County, call 911. If you have information on dog fighting activity in Baltimore City call Animal Control at (410) 396-4698.

Nebraska
Nebraska Humane Society offers a dogfighting hotline. Callers can report illegal dogfighting anonymously, and are eligible for a cash reward. People with information on dogfighting are encouraged to call (402) 444-7800.

New York
Out of the Pits Rescue is offering a $250 reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone promoting or participating in dog fighting in the state of NY. They can be contacted at www.outofthepits.org

Humane Society of Wayne County is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone promoting or participating in dog fighting.

The Humane Society of Rochester & Monroe County offers rewards of up to $3500 for information that leads to the arrest and/or conviction of individuals involved in animal fighting. If you have information regarding animal fighting, contact the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm's Animal Cruelty Hotline at (716) 223-6500 immediately.

Washington
Boldog Training Kennel offers a $250 reward to any person, outside the performance of law enforcement duties, who presses charges resulting in the arrest and conviction of any person who participates in a dog fight.

Texas
The SPCA of Texas is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individual involved in dog fighting in the state of Texas. Take a stand today by reporting all suspected animal cruelty and abuse to local law enforcement and to the SPCA of Texas at www.spca.org/cruelty or (214) 742-SPCA (7722).

Southeastern US
Norred and Associates, Inc., an Atlanta-based private security firm, operates a pit bull fighting tip hotline—1-877-215-2250—that allows private citizens to report suspected dogfighting and related animal abuse occurring in the Southeastern US anonymously. Norred’s private investigators follow through on every call. The tip line offers rewards up to $5000 for leads that end in the arrest and conviction of individuals involved in such felony crimes.

United Kingdom
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals offers a 1,000 pound reward for information regarding dog fighting (which leads to a bust).
