Christina Hansen, age 28, passed away on August 25, 2008. Her two passions in life were horseback riding and her pit bull, Kayla. Nine years ago Christina was working as a vet tech when a three month old pit bull puppy came into the animal hospital after jumping out a second floor window. The owner couldn’t pay the bill and the puppy was about to be taken to the humane society the next day. Without a second thought, Christina took that puppy home and soon they were inseparable. They spent many days at the dog park and at the Jersey shore playing in the ocean.
Christina’s dream in life was to start her own pit bull rescue and show people the loving and devoted nature of this breed. Donating to Pit Bull Rescue Central would keep her dream alive so that more dogs like Kayla can have happy and healthy lives. Kayla is now living with Christina’s parents, Ray and Edy, her sister Kari, and all of her feline friends.
