Dozer & Bubbles Romeo Bella

We purchased Dozer (the larger of the two) late in Sept. of ’06. The breeder told us if we did not purchase him that he was going to go to someone who was going to fight him in Baltimore. I am so lucky to have both of our pits in our lives. Thanks to everyone who has helped to protect this breed. They are the best dogs ever!

Despite being a Hurricane Katrina rescue Romeo loves the water. A kayaking trip just wouldn't be the same without him.

Five years ago, when my husband first wanted to get a "pit bull", I was scared because their bad reputation portrayed by the media. The minute I saw Bella's cute little face, I fell in love. Since then I have learned so much about this amazing breed and will never, ever again get any other breed of dog! We are sooo thankful every day for being able to share our lives with such an amazing dog.

Zeus & Ti Ti & Hannah Gabby

Zeus (red) and Ti (brindle & white) were the best of friends. We lost Zeus to bone cancer in November 2003. Ti is now 9 years old and is a great ambassador for the breed. She loves our 1 and 3 year old 2-legged kids and has a healthy fear of our 16 year old cat. I wish everyone could see this breed in the light we do.

Gabby goes everywhere with us – hiking the Rocky Mountains, swimming the Lake of the Ozarks – we can’t imagine doing anything without her. One of Gabby’s favorite things to do is to tell you a story – boy does she talk! She also likes to cuddle up right beside you and take up most of the real estate at bedtime (but she’s worth it). We are so blessed to have Gabby as a part of our family. My husband and I love the breed and will always adopt pit bulls. We wish more people had the opportunity to get to know pit bulls before passing harsh, uninformed judgment and implementing ridiculous bans. Maybe one day, such bans will be eliminated.

Pirate Alvarez Shadow & Esmeralda Ilana

12/18/06 - 4/21/07
Thank you for the time you were with us angel puppy. You are forever in our hearts.
We love you: Mommy, Daddy, Jasmine & Esmeralda 10/07

Shadow was 3 months old in this picture (March 2007). At 9 months, Shadow is now almost 100 pounds! Big for a pit! Dad and Mom (Rhino & Reyna) were both very big as well, both blue noses. Shadow is a very good boy; very obedient and smart. He loves his sisters Jasmine and Esmeralda and he does not like them to be out of his sight. He loves the water, plays in the bathtub and enjoys chasing after tennis balls. He's GREAT at the dog park and at doggie day care. His family loves him dearly. 10/07

Miss Ilana,
You had such a short life on this earth, and it started out so utterly horrible. Thankfully you found some amazing women that saved your life, nursed you back to health and loved you when nobody else cared. You spent the last year and a half in an amazing foster home with a group of people who cared for you. The fact that you are gone fills so many of us with a great sadness that you were never able to find your forever home. We realize that you are far luckier than most pit bulls in this world, and we're honored to be the group that was able to love you for at least your last year and a half.
RIP little angel.

Love,
Mid-America Bully Breed Rescue 10/07

King Chloe Fergie
The Dog Who Would Be King...was found in a dumpster. He lived his next 2 years on a chain, before being given to a homeless man. Although King enjoyed the company and the exercise, he was still a victim of prejudice. Ultimately, it cost him his life.

This is Chloe. The love of my life. I adopted her from the Humane Society in Indiana, PA on January 14, 2007. Chloe is a sweet, loving and affectionate companion. We've spent this year socializing and training, working throught fears and distrust. She has taught us about love, patience and kindness. What a remarkable blessing Chloe has been to our family!

Fergie found us in July - she was dumped off in front of our office along with another dog. In the three months that she was with us, she gave us and our other dogs joy, happiness and an endless supply of love and affection. We will always remember you 'little lady'! RIP
